What is an Online Business Manager?

The official definition of an Online Business Manager (OBM) is a virtually based support professional who manages online based businesses, including the day-to-day management of projects, operations, management of team members, metrics management, and development of multiple streams of income.

How will I know what level of service I will require?

The first step to determining the level of service you will require will be determined in your free 30 minute consult call.  Please feel free to click on the button in the side bar that says, “Click Here to Schedule an Appointment”.  This will take you into my calendar – you may choose a time that is convenient for you.  Before our meeting you will be sent a short assessment form to be completed and returned to me before our meeting to make the best use our consultation time.

After that consult call and we both decide that partnering together would be a good fit for both of our businesses we will move to the next step.  I will send you a contract and payment link for your first payment.   We will try a few “dating” projects to test our compatibility.  Again, the OBM relationship is a long term relationship that you want to work for both business owners.

What type of relationship will we have?

My expectations and business model are built on a long term relationship with my clients.  I partner with fewer clients in order to offer a higher level of  attention and support.  I partner with clients who have more than enough work to delegate.  I have learned that I cannot provide a valuable service or make an impact on your business if you only need an online business manager for a minimal number of hours per month.

The reason that I only partner with a small number of select clients is that it allows me to get to know more about your business needs in depth and provide a more personalized service.  This alone is an invaluable service to my clients.

What is your personality?

You will find me to be a warm and friendly person, but also very focused and professional when working with clients.

Who is your ideal client?

I am definitely a results oriented manager.  My power and creativity works best for my clients when momentum is high and stable.  My ideal client is one who knows where they want to go in their business, motivated to get there and has the ability to turn loose of the reins to allow me to step in and do what I do best, which in turn, provides the business owner with the time and space to do what they do best.

How will we communicate?

Common modes of communication and data delivery include the Internet, e-mail and phone call conferences, online work spaces, and fax machine.

When are you available?

My office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday’s from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.  But I am not always available during that time.  Since I work with other clients, I may need to be focused on their projects for a while, just as I need to be focused on yours.  I do not offer instant turn around on projects – it’s not fair to everyone else.  If we have something coming up that we know will be on a tight time frame, we will make sure that we discuss it at our weekly meetings so that we have the plan and the time in place.

What about fees?

As an Online Business Manager it is my goal to support the growth and success of your business without having to worry about every minute that it takes to complete projects.  Therefore, I work on a retainer and project basis.  After reviewing your business model and goals together we estimate the time is needed each month in order to reach the agreed upon goals for your business.  I have learned that what works best for me and my clients is no less than 20 hours a month.

I’d be happy to discuss a tailored retainer package to fit your needs.    Incentive packages that include base + incentive may be recommended and agreed upon.

A signed Online Business Manager Agreement is required before any work begins, along with the first payment.  A payment link will arrive at the same time of the agreement.  Once we decide to partner together you will be sent an OBM Agreement  via my contract management tool EcoSign.

Payment Policy

  • Retainer clients are billed the retainer amount at the beginning of the month (due upon receipt) and will be billed for any overages at the end of the month.
  • Clients will be charged for incidental costs such as stationary, postcards, postage, mileage, shipping, etc.
  • I accept PayPal, checks, and credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover)
